OUR STORY

EVERYTHING DESERVES A SECOND LIFE.

MANY FAST-FASHION BRANDS CONTINUE TO MANUFACTURE LESS QUALITY REPLICAS OF ORIGINAL VINTAGE ITEMS. THEY PRODUCE MORE THAN THEY CAN SELL; CREATING EXCESS WASTE. MOST OF THESE PIECES END UP IN THE LANDFILL DUE TO THE LACK OF DURABILITY.

AT SECOND LIFE APPAREL, WE ELIMINATE THIS ISSUE BY REWORKING ONE-OF-A-KIND THROWBACK PIECES. SECOND LIFE APPAREL: RECYCLES ALL FABRIC SCRAPS USED AND DONATES 5% OF ALL PURCHASES TO ENVIRONMENTAL FOUNDATIONS.

AMONG THE RACKS, WE FOUND-HER

THE FOUNDER, MAYA GRIGORUK, HAS BEEN THRFTING FOR AS LONG AS SHE CAN REMEMBER, BUT HABITUALLY SINCE 2008. GROWING UP IN A LOW INCOME FAMILY, THRIFT SHOPPING WAS A STATE TO AFFORD.

BORN AND RAISED IN VANCOUVER B.C., SHE PURSUED HER DEGREE IN FASHION DESIGN. THE LOVE FOR THRIFTING AND DESIRE TO CHANGE THE  ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES CAUSED BY OUR APPAREL INDUSTRY,  BROUGHT MAYA TO CREATE NOT ONLY A BRAND BUT A MOVEMENT:
SECOND LIFE APPAREL.

REWORKING ONE-OF-A-KIND
THROWBACK PIECES

WE SOURCE VINTAGE AND THROWBACK CLOTHING TO REWORK. THE GOAL IS TO SAVE OUTDATED STYLES THAT WOULD OTHERWISE  END UP IN OUR LANDFILL.
